Where Pilates fits
Pilates can be an excellent part of the plan. Reformer work, spring resistance, controlled tempo and challenging body-weight sequences can build strength, coordination and trunk control. Mat Pilates also supports mobility, balance and body awareness.
The key question is progression. If the same sequence always feels the same, it may maintain skill but provide less stimulus for new strength. Increase spring tension, resistance, range, repetitions, time under tension or exercise complexity as your technique allows. What about walking, swimming, yoga and cycling?
